Q: What are the requirements to rent a car from Rentooy.com ?

A: To rent a car through Rentooy.com, you must have a valid drivers license, a good DMV record, be at least 21 years of age, and have proof of residency.

Q: What are your age requirements for renting a car?

A: The minimum age requirement to rent a Rentooy.com car is 21 for standard cars. Standard cars are full size cars and smaller. You must be 25 or older to rent a luxury car, 7 seater SUV, and 15-passenger van, cube truck and or specialty vehicle. Additional charges apply to all renters under 25.

Q: What else do I need to bring with me?

A: You are required to also present a second means of identification. Any second means of I.D is acceptable. However, it should not be the same as the drivers license identification. LOS ANGELES county residents, picking up a car at the Rentooy.com location are also required to bring with them at the time of car pick up, a utility bill from their currently home address with their name on it. Without this additional means of ID, the car will not be issued.

Q: What type of credit card can I use to rent the car?

A: Rentooy.com accepts all the major charge cards listed below. The charge card must be in the renter’s name. Debit, Checks or cash cards are accepted as credit identification at the beginning of the rental. They can be used however through out the rental period for payment of rental charges. A minimum of $500.00 must be available on your charge card at the time that you pick up your car. For any additional details, please call the office directly.

Q: What are your drivers license requirements?

A: All drivers must have a valid drivers license in their possession to rent a vehicle. No copies or faxed licenses will be accepted at any time. The original license must be presented, and must be in the name of the driver. The renter’s driver’s license must be valid for the entire rental period.

An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves only as a translation of a valid driver’s license. An IDP must always be presented in conjunction with the official drivers license of the issuing country.

Rentooy.com will not rent to a holder of a license that restricts them to daytime driving only or to business driving only.

A learner’s permit is not accepted. A valid temporary license is accepted with supporting ID. Expired licenses will not be accepted.

Q: Will Rentooy.com accept an expired drivers license?

A: The renters drivers license must be valid for the entire rental period. Expired licenses will not be accepted.

Q: If I leave my license at home can I have a copy faxed to you?

A: No, Rentooy.com will not accept a faxed license.

Q: Is an International Drivers License accepted?

A: An International Driving Permit (IDP) serves only as a translation of a valid drivers license.

While helpful if you have a driver’s license printed in a language other than English it is not mandatory in order to rent a Rentooy.com car. An IDP must always be presented in conjunction with the official drivers license of the issuing country.

Q: I don’t have a driver’s license. Can I rent the car and have someone else drive it?

A: You must have a valid license present in your name in order to rent a Rentooy.com vehicle. The only time Rentooy.com will rent to a non-licensed renter is if the individual is unable to drive due to a disability. Under the disability exception the driver still has to present the drivers license, and the disabled person has to provide proof from a licensed physician, surgeon, physician’s assistant, nurse practitioner, or certified midwife.

Q: I am a Renter of Rentooy.com and I got into an automobile accident. What do I do?

Q: What if I can’t make it to my pick up date and time?

A: Reservations are valid and honored for up to three day after the requested pick up time. If the vehicle is not picked up within three days of the requested pick up time your reservation status will be changed to a NO SHOW. We ask that you contact Rentooy.com if you need to change the pick up time of your requested vehicle to avoid any problems.

Q: Who is liable for damages, if they occur?

A: In California, the renter is liable for all damage to the Rentooy.com vehicle regardless of fault. In California, state law requires that the driver to be insured at all times while driving any vehicle. The Renter must provide proof of insurance as before the car will be released to them. Proof of coverage would be your insurance card, or policy page from your personal car insurance policy.

Q: What is Liability Protection?

A: Liability protection is one of those categories of protection that you may think you’ll never need – especially if you are a renter. While protecting your personal possessions from damage or theft makes sense, the idea of liability coverage can seem like an unnecessary precaution to take.

The reality is that accidents do happen. And sometimes they happen right on your property. And often, someone visiting you and is accidentally injured may file a lawsuit against you or demand that you pay their medical expenses. If you damage someone else’s property, you also run the risk of a lawsuit. The probability is there for any of these circumstances to occur, and your best defense is to have a comprehensive renter’s insurance policy that will protect you.

Q: What does Liability Protection Cover?

A: With renter’s insurance, you will be provided coverage if any of the above were to happen, as your insurance would pay the losses associated with:

* Bodily Injury – paying medical expenses that the injured party incurs or any legal costs should you be involved in a lawsuit

* Property Damage – paying claims against you if you damage someone else’s property

The amount of liability protection will vary depending on the insurance company that you select, so be certain to research this information carefully to see how much coverage you will receive. Typically, you can elect to have liability coverage in the amounts of $100,000, $300,00 or $500,000.

Q: Do I need Renters Liability Protection?

A: Liability coverage is required in the state of CA. You must either provide written proof of coverage or purchase. Liability coverage does not cover your rental car, it covers any damage that your vehicle would cause to any 3rd party property. Liability coverage provides third party liability protection for bodily injury ($15,000 per person, $30,000 per accident) and property damage ($5,000) to third parties, as mandated and at the limits required by California. Renters in California who purchase RLP will receive California required liability coverage. Check with the rental agent Rentooy.com for where the RLP can be purchased. Written proof of liability coverage is required at all of our offices.

Q: What will void my contract?

A: WARNING TO RENTERS: Please be advised that you will be in breach of your contract if any off the following occur (A) intentional, willful, wanton, or reckless conduct, (B) operation of the vehicle under the influence of drugs or alcohol, (C) towing or pushing anything, (D) payments are not received in the time frame provided, (E) used for commercial hire, (F) used in connection with conduct that could be properly charged as a felony, (G) involved in a speed test or contest or in driver training activity, (H) operated by a person other than an authorized driver, (I) operated outside of the United States, (J) renter provided fraudulent information to the rental company, (K) carry hazardous material, or (L) provided false information and the rental company would not have rented the vehicle if it had instead received true information.

Q: What is the Pick up Policy?

A: Domestic rental reservations will be held 3 days from the booked rental time before the car is released.

If you do not arrive by your scheduled pick up time, your reservation will be canceled.

Q: Is there taxes and surcharges?

A: Surcharges may apply. Please check at the time of rate information or reservation for the amounts of any applicable surcharges.

Q: Can I add an additional Driver?

A: At the time of rental an additional driver must be at least 21 years of age, present a valid driver’s license and complete an additional driver form. For certain vehicles, 25-year-old age restrictions might be in effect.

An authorized driver for a disabled renter is exempt from the additional driver credit requirement. Proof must be presented for the disabled driver. There is no charge for additional drivers for rentals. However, all additional drivers must have their own credit card, in their name, present with them at the time of the rental.

Q: What are Rentooy.com’s rates?

A: Each renting price is clearly listed on the Rental Posting.

Our rates are on a monthly rate based on the rental price, we charge our rates when the payment is processed each month, from the Lessor to the Renter.

Q: Can I take the Car out of the state?

A: Rentooy.com vehicles are permitted to be driven in California and Nevada only. If your rental agreement states "unlimited" mileage, it is unlimited mileage in the State of CA and NV only. Vehicles are not permitted to enter Mexico at any time.

Contract Violations :

Contract violations include, but are note limited to : 1. Driving the vehicle outside of CA or NV 2. Driving while intoxicated 3. Failure to return the rental vehicle by due date 4. Operation of the vehicle by someone who is not listed as an authorized driver on the contract 5. Failure to pay all charges listed on the contract at time of return.
